Learn Spanish at Alhambra Instituto
Alhambra language school is located in a quiet neighbourhood near Malaga beach. The building and the classrooms are equipped with all modern facilities and interactive learning methods. Teachers like to make learning as interactive as possible and will regularly show videos, websites and audio clips, on one of the digiboards, as part of the lessons. Using Spanish in everyday life is the central focus of lessons, and teachers often take students out into the community to practice in real life. The school has a small but cosy garden where paella and tapas parties are often held.

We...
Although I only attended lessons at this school for two weeks (20 hours at B1.2 Level), I can say with the utmost confidence that it was an invaluable experience to my Spanish-Language journey. I have learnt more than I ever thought was possible in two weeks.
We had two grammar classes in the morning and two speaking classes in the afternoon which were taken by two outstanding teachers: Teresa and Pedro, respectively. I came to this school knowing nothing about the subjunctive and within two weeks I was able to use it confidently in my writing - which is, in my opinion a great achievement in itself, especially because the two languages I already speak do not have a subjunctive mood. Our grammar teacher was able to break the subjunctive down into such a simple equation that it was hard not to understand!
Furthermore, our speaking classes were so fun and varied that you didn't even realise you were learning! No one felt embarrassed to speak and make mistakes which was also great. The classes included speaking about ourselves, our opinions, using songs and writing extracts to develop our ability to express our feelings and opinions, as well as scenarios that required us to interact with each other which was also extremely helpful.
It was also great meeting new people and I will definitely be back when I finish my degree!
¡Muchas gracias!

I have attended the intensive Spanish course (20 hours) at Alhambra Instituto for 11 weeks and thus experienced every professor and their teaching style during the classes.
From my first day at the establishment, I have felt at home. After my arrival, the friendly reception welcomed me warmly and explained the course to me. After this, my Spanish journey started in the A0 class, and I have enjoyed it ever since.
Each teacher has a slightly different teaching style, but it is apparent they coordinate their lessons. The system of two grammar lessons in the morning combined with two more discussion lessons afterwards really helps to manifest the newly learnt concepts and words.
I am highly impressed with how much ease the staff manages to explain concepts such as the subjunctive, breaking them down into digestible bites. Our whole class has grasped the grammar; we are now using it in the discussion lessons!
If you struggle to approach people in the streets or restaurants of Málaga, then you will highly treasure the discussion lessons. You get the chance to speak, and you will want to do so. Thus your fluency will increase. I am still baffled by how I had conversations in Spanish in my first week of the course. The teachers create a warm atmosphere of learning and understanding Spanish culture. They make you feel safe and do not pressurise you at all. (It is okay not to know something. And trust me, it will happen a lot.)
Moreover, I have been living with a Spanish guest family. My experience with my guest family has been equally positive. Since my arrival, they have dedicated time for me. Living in a Spanish family has been improving my fluency a lot. It is evident they had other guest students before, as they somehow complement the course. I can try out newly learnt concepts with them. Only then do they start to use them as well. They are very cautious not to overwhelm me with the language. I find this very motivating and fun to talk to them. Furthermore, I feel like I am a family member and not just a guest.
To sum it up, I highly recommend this school. Here, I have seen my Spanish improve significantly whilst having fun.
I've studied Spanish in 4 different language schools abroad, in immersion programs in my home country, and in high school and college. My teacher at Alhambra Malaga was the best I've ever had, he was able to teach me grammar I'd never understood that well before (subjunctive) in a way that kept me engaged and left me feeling as though I'd made a huge leap in understanding. The conversation classes were also great, the instructors did an excellent job ensuring all students at all levels had a chance to speak and asked interesting questions that got us all talking. overall an excellent experience, I'll be back next year:)
Spent 3 awesome weeks at this great school, where I immediately felt at home. As a language teacher myself I highly appreciated the teacher´s deep knowledge of their subject, as well as their teaching skills and ability to adapt the classes to their students needs. The atmosphere in class was always warm and friendly, and the topics we discussed were engaging. It was also great that they have teachers of all ages, not only very young ones (I was afraid that everyone in the school would be under 30 but that was not the case). We middle-aged students feel more at ease with teachers of our own generation. :) Another thing that I highly appreciated was the excellent cultural program with lots of well-planned visits to nearby cities and places of cultural interest. All in all; the school made a very professional - yet warm and informal - impression and I will be happy to join classes again when I come to Málaga next time.
I have just returned from a special 'Seniors' course at the Alhambra Institute and would recommend it highly to any adult who is thinking of doing a Spanish language course. Having experienced different schools in different parts of Spain, what struck me most about the Alhambra was the warm and welcoming ambience. Its not a large school so you get to know all the staff very well and the teachers are fun, enthusiastic and inspirational and the teaching is of a high standard. On this 'Seniors' package all the activities were included and there was something every day: visits to the local museums, visits to important sites in the city including the fascinating central market, a Paella get together, and excursions to Cordoba and Granada at the weekends. You learnt as much Spanish on these outings as in the classroom. I am looking forward very much to a return visit next year!
I was so impressed all the class here and specially Fran. He was the best teacher I have met in my life. Hopefully, I want to study one more time if possible. At first, It was so hard to adapt learning spanish.but thanks to Fran,we could manage to study spanish easily. Fran!! Sidney and I will really miss you even in Korea. Thanks for everything you did for us.
