I did the Intensive 25 which is 4 hours of class and 1hr conversation (30mins if you are the only one on your level doing it) a day. For me, I had an amazing teacher, Sandra, who used lots of different materials/ways to get us to understand different concepts so that would be; the book, printouts with extra explanations, exercises, spoken examples, conversation , videos; it was a lot of work but I learnt more in 2 weeks than I had in years of doing courses back in London. My other conversation teachers (which I did for 30mins extra) Marie and Sergio were also very good, it's more like a casual conversation so you can practise it.

This 5* review is based purely on my own experience and I recommend it if you get the right teacher and have done some of your own learning beforehand. My boyfriend didn't have the best teacher unfortunately (I won't say her name) for his A1.1 class which is supposed to be a complete beginner class, she refused to make it any easier and would only talk in Spanish rapidly and wouldn't really help the people struggling so he quit after a couple of days as it was getting frustrating and he wasn't learning anything.

I learnt huge amounts during my week at Linguaschools. The lessons were well organised, challenging, fun and enjoyable. I came away with a huge resource of meaningful Spanish vocabulary, useful phrases, an understanding of many grammar rules and more confidence with my spoken skills, having been given some great workshop-like lessons. The lessons gave me excellent practice of Spanish, through written, reading and discussion activities. My teacher Lola had a great sense of humour and I really enjoyed her lessons and the group I was with. I'm hoping to get back there for another week soon!

I wanted to study Spanish in Madrid but only had one week because of work commitments. Linguaschools was excellent. Classes started at 9.30am and finished at 1.30pm, so I still had the afternoon to explore Madrid; location of the school is excellent too, close to Bilboa Metro and a brief walk to Gran Via etc.

The class I attended was well balanced between giving plenty of opportunities to speak and theory work, all taught in a fun way. The range of topics discussed was excellent. The teachers were easy to understand. I felt I learnt a lot in a brief time.

I am definitely planning to return again!
